Jack Kenny
Ann Arbor, Michigan
Jack Kenny first traveled to Cuba in April, of 1996. He has visited the island more than 70 times since that first trip. His initial project was the website Cuba-photo.com, a free use site (for educators and students), aimed at imaging Cuba at the street level. Kenny's goal was to help end the embargo and to give people a more honest look at life in Cuba than is generally presented in the U.S.
He has had numerous one-man and group shows of his work which includes extensive photo documentation of Cuba. In 2005, his award winning 12x12 B&W coffee table book of life in Cuba was published. Kenny also is a lecturer on Cuba for schools, universities and service clubs. His work is in numerous collections.
His projects include several series: Nudes with Pears; Mexicali; Blended: The Women; The Yellow Dress; & Women's Stories.
Kenny makes his living as a commercial photographer and does the fine art and documentary work as an adjunct to that world.
He lives in Ann Arbor, MI with his daughter Lauren and dogs Lucci & Hopper.
